OBEX - Façade Elements of The Through-Wall Construction

What is it? A Vapour Control Layer is an air/vapour- tight membrane that is installed internally to increase airtightness, improve moisture management and energy efficiency. VCL (Vapour Control Layer) Where is it used? The VCL is fixed to the internal side of the Steel Framing System using double-sided tape, and sealed at the edges with UV Façade Tape. Why do we use it? A VCL provides an airtight layer which minimises the amount of warm/moist air that enters the fabric of the building and to protect the structure from degradation due to condensation and vapour build up.
