Breather Membranes

What is it? A Breather Membrane is a fire-classified, microporous membrane that provides a vapour- permeable protective layer around buildings. Where is it used? Breather Membranes are secured horizontally or vertically to the sheathing board using double-sided tape, and sealed at joints/ overlaps/edges using UV Facade Tape. Why do we use it? The Breather Membrane provides a weather resistive layer, whilst at the same time, allowing vapour to escape from the cavity, and thus reducing the risk of condensation and vapour build-up.
